Wind farm and solar site installation in Breeze and Bright

At Greenbyte, we have a lot of experience with many different assets and connection types. We capture the data coming out of wind turbines and solar plants regardless of the manufacturer and setup, and regardless of physical location. On top of that, we don't need to travel to the site or install any hardware. So how do we do it?

Let's consider a typical portfolio in Breeze or Bright which may consist of a number of different sites in different locations with assets from different manufacturers. First of all, an internet connection needs to be available at each site for our software to be able to connect to it. Greenbyte engineers work with the customer engineers to establish a secure connection from the Greenbyte data center to each asset's data services. The data protocol differs depending on the data services that are available from the assets (ODBC, OPC DA, OPC XML DA, IEC, FTP). Each one of them requires its own specific communication - but all share a common goal, to expose the manufacturers data interface to Breeze or Bright and allow for data collection.

Data security is of course critical and industry standard methods like SSL, VPN and IPSEC encryption are used.

Once a connection has been established, the signals coming out of the assets such as the power, wind speed, rotor speed, solar radiation and so on, is mapped out and integrated into the Greenbyte software.

The assets themselves are then configured in the Greenbyte system and the data can flow into the system and the assets will appear on the user's screen.
