How to evaluate performance enhancement in wind farms

This fall we are excited to start a new master thesis project together with the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. The purpose of the project is to get a understanding of where the industry is heading in terms of increasing power output from existing wind farms.

This fall we are excited to start a new master thesis project together with the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. At Breeze we like to work in close connection with academia. Most of the time we have at least one master thesis project that is ongoing and relevant for the future product development of Breeze.

This fall we are very excited to start a new Master Thesis project together with Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. 

The purpose of the project is to get a understanding of where the industry is heading in terms of increasing power output from existing wind farms. The project has three phases.

  1. Organize and map methods to increase power output from wind farms. Example: Vortex generators, control systems, wind sector management etc.
  2. Describe the dynamics between wind farm owners and turbine manufacturers.
  3. Establish a method for how to evaluate effects of a performance enhancing activity.
